CSV to JSON

Parse comma-separated data with quoted fields, escaped quotes, and multiline cells into a JSON array.

Private by default. Your input stays in your browser.Learn more
All cell values remain strings, preserving leading zeros and exact values. Headers must be nonempty and unique; each data row must match the header length.

What does this tool do?

CSV to JSON conversion turns table rows into objects using the first row as property names. Cell values remain strings, so identifiers with leading zeros are preserved.

When to use this tool

Convert a comma-separated export into an array of JSON records for an application or test fixture. The first row supplies property names, and cell values stay as strings so leading zeros are preserved. Use unique headers and consistent column counts.

How to use CSV to JSON

  1. Paste CSV with a header row.
  2. Convert to validate column counts and parse each record.
  3. Copy the JSON or download it.

A quick example

name,role
Alex,Developer → [{"name":"Alex","role":"Developer"}]

Common questions

Are numeric strings converted to numbers?

No. Values remain strings so identifiers, postal codes, and large integers retain their exact representation.

Why is a row rejected?

Look for unmatched quotes, duplicate headers, or a different number of fields than the header row.

Working with a large input? Text converters accept up to 1,000,000 characters. Regex test text is limited to 50,000 characters and JWTs to 100,000.
