Missing and null values become empty fields. Nested objects become JSON strings. Spreadsheet formula protection prefixes risky cells with an apostrophe by default.

What does this tool do?

JSON to CSV conversion turns an array of objects into a table: object keys become column headers and records become rows. Nested values are kept as JSON text in their cells.

When to use this tool

Turn an array of records from an API into rows for a spreadsheet. Object keys become columns, and nested values remain JSON text inside a cell. Review the exported values before importing them into a spreadsheet, especially when the source data is untrusted.

How to use JSON to CSV

  1. Paste an array of objects.
  2. Convert to build columns from all object keys.
  3. Download the CSV or copy the output.

A quick example

[{"name":"Alex","age":28}] → name,age
Alex,28

Common questions

How are commas and newlines handled?

Fields containing commas, double quotes, or newlines are enclosed in quotes. Embedded quotes are doubled.

Are nested objects flattened?

No. Nested objects and arrays are serialized as JSON within a CSV field to avoid ambiguous column names.

Working with a large input? Text converters accept up to 1,000,000 characters. Regex test text is limited to 50,000 characters and JWTs to 100,000.
