Component mode escapes separators such as &, = and /. Full URL mode preserves URL structure. A plus sign is not automatically converted to a space.

What does this tool do?

URL encoding replaces characters such as spaces and ampersands with percent-encoded values. Use Component mode for one query parameter value; Full URL mode preserves the separators of an assembled URL.

When to use this tool

Percent encoding lets you include spaces, symbols, and international text in URLs. Choose Component when encoding a query parameter value, especially if it contains an ampersand or equals sign. Choose Full URL to keep the separators in an already assembled address.

How to use URL Encoder / Decoder

  1. Paste a parameter value or a complete URL.
  2. Select Component for parameter values, or Full URL to preserve delimiters.
  3. Choose Encode or Decode and copy the result.
